2020 Tempranillo (Lodi Natural Ferment)
DESCRIPTION
The wine opens with aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and a touch of plum, intertwined with earthy notes of leather, tobacco, and a hint of vanilla from oak aging. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied with a robust structure, showcasing flavors of dark fruit, black currant, and a subtle spice, that reflects the unique soil in the Potrero Vineyard in the Clements sub-A.V.A. of Lodi. The tannins are firm yet integrated, leading to a long, smooth finish with lingering notes of cocoa and espresso. This Tempranillo strikes a harmonious balance between vibrant fruitiness and a more nuanced, savory complexity, making it versatile for pairing with a variety of dishes, from grilled meats to aged cheeses.

WINEMAKERS THOUGHTS
A departure from my usual style while still representing Lodi. A wine that is naturally fermented and from a single vineyard requires immense attention in the field. This wine is a true expression of Potrero Vineyard-a Mexican owned vineyard.
